I had a RIO32HF prior to my Mag 9.5, and it was way over rated. This was one that was recommended to me by an LFS trying to make a few extra bucks rather than give me one that was property rated.
As riceboy pointed out, if you run a too powerfull of pump, you are more likely to get micro bubbles, and will have a lot louder splashing effect from your return. Also, my skimmer has worked a lot better since getting the lesser pump.

The Eheim 1262 is the pump I really wanted to get as well, but was in an emergency so went with the Mag 9.5 as that was what was available. Eheim are very highly rated and is what I would have got if I had the time. I am not at all dissapointed with my Mag 9.5 though.
