Based on what I've seen so far I'm suprised you guys didn't cast a steel plate right inside the house for the stand's top

MDf is super strong once sealed its rock solid.

19mm starfire glass! Have all the sides right now, tomorrow I will pick up my bottom and my one piece euro brace for the top.

MDF reacts very poorly to a high moister environment...........it needs to be sealed with a special sealer, then primed, then painted or it will just swell and blow apart.....personally I would use plywood(coming from a carpenter who has made his fair share of tank stands)

+1 Great build, but I would lose the MDF, if you can find duraply (exterior grade and smooth surface like MDF, used by sign makers for exterior signs and billboards) that would be the way to go. One small flaw in your finish or water penetration on the edge will cause swelling and create a pressure point. Other than that tagging along, looks like it will be nice, can't wait to see the one piece euro.
