![]() Am a new member and just testing to see if my account works. I inherited a SW tank with a house we bought, so have a lot to learn. Have freshwater fish experience from many years ago, but SW is definitely a lot more demanding, and I know I will have some challenges. I see there is a lot of knowledge in these forums and hope to learn as much as I can here.

![]() I am attaching some photos of my tank. This my 1st attempt at posting and uploading, so hope it works.
As you can see, my tank is a little overgrown with corals and stuff. It is also full of aiptasia, which I don't like, and am trying to find fish that will feed on them. There is also lots of nuisance aglae, which I keep cleaning, and some fish are eating it, too. The tank is 100 g with a sump and skimmer downstairs. I want to hook up a refugium as well, and am reading and trying to learn how to do that properly. My water parameters are all pretty good. Have had a challenge keeping the CA up, and need to add it every other day or so. Other things are fine, as far as I know. RP |

![]() very nice indeed, after some fine customizing you can have quite a system.i would think about opening it up a bit and get some more viewing space in there.
you can make some money back by fragging the corals that have outgrown the tank and selling them to other reefers its one of the percs of owning a tank and growing coral that big.theres plenty of good reads on here or simply ask for advice or another reefer to come help you ![]() ![]() cheers

![]() First, thanks everyone for the kind replies.
Have just heard about fragging, and may have to do it. My tank is pretty full to the surface with corals. That big one in the centre is almost two feet across. Taking a knife to live animals seems a little squeamish to me, but I guess that is how it is done. Will research it a lot more before doing anything, though. I don't have much for custodian animals, though, no crabs or shrimp. I have a large Green Bird Wrasse, and he rips apart any shrimp or crab in about 10 seconds. So have to do a lot of manual cleaning which is a lot of work. I do have a Lawnmower Blenny in there, though, and he is pretty fat, eating algae. And my Yellow Tang is constantly grazing on algae, so I guess that helps a bit. RP |

![]() Welcome to Canreef! Mexican Turbo snails make really good custodians as well I find short spined sea urchins do a good job as well. Fish usually leave both of these alone.

![]() I would keep and eye on the Mertensii Butterflyfish, don't think they are too good with corals usually. He should also be picking at the aiptasia everyone i had devoured it.
