Default Change of plans

Well I showed you pics of the new tank this reef "WAS" going to be going into. That is no longer the plan, I have now thought about this tank to much. Most of these corals are already out growing this tank and the new tank was going to be the same foot print just taller. That new tank was not going to do much for the corals.

So here is the new plan, the display tank will be 72'(L) x 48' (W) x 26"(H). The front and one piece eurobrace will be optiwhite. Optiwhite is clearer and softer that starphire, but I can get 15mm sooner that 15mm starphire. I am going to be doing a single rear overflow, with two 2" and one 1 1/2" drains. A double 12mm bottom with the top panel tempered.

The sump will be 60"(L) x 30"(W) x 16"(H). It will have a built in fuge and filter sock holders, with a nice big area for reactors and skimmer. The stand will be steel and I will make it 36" tall.

I am still debating on a closed loop system? I have two 24" LTA and we all know they love to find the intake of powerheads. I am concerend that they will find the intake of closed loop. I have a reeflo hammerhead pump, I may just try the same style that I was planing on the previous tank. Then use some powerheads for added flow if needed.

I will be running bio-pellets on this system as this tank already has them and they work well for this tank. The skimmer will be an ATI bubble master 250. Lighting will be 2- 48" x8 bulb tek T5HO's.

There will be a controller on this tank, I have a reef keeper 2 on this tank at the moment, but I may up grade to the RKE. I think that is about it, I hope to have this tank up for after Christmasor before if I can swing it. Thanks

Can't wait to see it man. Let me know if you need hands to help move stuff out or in as you get going on this. I'll be there.

Thanks Brett, you are first on the list. I think this is going to happen fast. The eels are gone, the 200 is now shut down and the sale is pending. I have ordered the opti-white for the front panel and one piece eurobrace. Then next step is to move my 400 gal fw tank into the place of the 200. Thenk I can get the stand ordered and in place.

Yes I am going steel, I will get two stands made and then just bolt them together. I had to do that with the 400 I already have. Works great.

I have been thinking about the flow in this tank alot. I am going to by-pass the closed loop. I like my nems way too much. I am going to run three of the vertex moceans in the eurobrace and thenfour 6105' or 6205's. ( not sure on that one yet) on the sides. They will be run of of the tunze controller. I hope this will work well.

That's a hell of a lot of flow!! Guess you need it with 4 FOOT deep tank!! Have you seen the Vertex Moceans in action?

Can't wait to see this bad boy set up.
