![]() Great idea, love something different, only thing I would be cautious of is the fake plant, they normally have wire inside to help hold the shape. Why not grow a real mangrove?

![]() What more details do you want - is 36 x 36 x 37 tall, is not drilled at this point (but is acrylic so I can do it myself when I decide exactly how high the water should be and how I can best hide the plumbing (going for the super clean look)
The walls of the tank are all 1" acrylic, and the top and bottom are 1 1/4" Weights a small amount compared to my first tank ![]() Mark PS - as for why not a "real" mangrove...you search and see if you can find one (I could not find any mangrove bigger than about 18" tall) and as I said I don't have a green thumb, and lastly even if I thought I could I was concerned that the roots would eventually put too much pressure on the seams of the tank... |

![]() Sorry, forgot that I am new around here, and assume that a lot of people check this forum and the other forum (the mostly Ontario one) so know me from there
Not sure if I am allowed to post links to the build on there or RC, just search for mark0933's 720G - here is the finished product...and my "assistant" ![]() ![]() |

![]() Real mangroves would be nice, but you'd be looking at at least 10 years before they grow to a nice size for that tank. Maybe you could import some but that might prove difficult you can only get the pods easily in Canada.
This is going to be a really neat tank! Maybe you should use real mangroves as the filtration to go along with the fake structure. 10 years down the road you might be able to take the fake ones out ![]() |
