With all the freakin' tank maintenance, testing, repairs, reaquascaping, crashes, pest control etc., none of us can spare that much time away from our tanks

Maybe it's time to step back and look at the big picture!
Is it still a fun hobby if you have no time to enjoy it??

I think hobby based functions are fun and offer a good way to check out other equiptment / setup's.

Here I go again...lol

There's Calgary Aquarium Society meetings once a month! Not everything is geared towards either fresh or salt, but I know there are many of us that do both. There's even talk of a "workshop" type get together with guest speakers, one for SW, plants and FW. And even a bowl show! So everything is going to be organized by others, you just have to show up! That's the hardest part I guess...but I enjoy meeting everyone, talking with them, and yes, I usually come home with something new from the raffle or the mini auction

I'm wondering how much work it would actually take to put on a show? All you really need is to rent a hall and get the vendors to show.
