Default Bubble trap

Anyone knows what is the best material used for bubble trap at the output of skimmers???

I don't have that problem so I can't really help but if you put either in the output of a skimmer, you are going to restrict the flow enough to cause the skimmer not to work properly and probably overflow your collection cup. Instead try raising the level of the water in the riser.

I was thinking of building a trap box just sitting at the o/p of my skimmer, but don't know what would be a good material to use in the box.

Hello,

A variety of ways to reduce bubbles,

1) Attach an elbow in the skimmer chamber to the drain, with the inlet of the elbow pointing down.

2) Close your gate valve so air/water interface rise a bit higher.

3) Raise the drain above water level.

4) Place baffles in sump.

5) Allow water to pass through high porous (low density) foam or bio-balls.
