Default Viper eel question

Are these in the hobby? They do not seem to be for sale anywhere. A person I know off of mfk is trying to track some down but it's seems they are not around. Has anybody ever heard of someone owning these eels? I want a show piece eel I'd rather have this eel over a japanese dragon moray eel. I was just wondering if someone knew if they were in the hobby or not.

Cool eel. But I'd guess that with a max size of over 8 feet, it's not going to be very easy to find.

I think that those get to be same size as some of the Leopard Morays I saw at the Beijing Zoo earlier this month. Unless you've got a huge tank, I'm not sure you'll even be able to keep one. And by huge, I mean like... Legit city Aquarium huge not a huge 6' long aquarium.

And like others have said, eels that large are not generally sold in this hobby. Definitely a special order from some supplier if at all. Zoos might be the only thing that could handle that specimen.
