You realize that the sale that Big Als has at christmas for salt.... no retailer can beat. Quality Marine in the states can help you. But really Big Al's sells it close to margin

Didn't even think about this, I would perhaps get in touch with them. I know they put up the "while quantities last" sign, as they need to cut their losses, but you might be able to work something with them too.

Plus calling them direct might work. I know lots of large companies that deal only with retailers will bend if the order is worth it.

I think the problem is that you probably won't find it at middleman pricing, as if you can, then can everyone else, and then what is to come of the LFS if we can just bypass them on everything.

Good Luck, personally I would go to someone like Kevin @ Red Coral and explain what you want... If I was him, I would rather make 5% on something after all expenses, than nothing... and then you get what you want.

Give that a try.

There is basically 1 distributor in Canada.

To purchase it from the USA in the East Coast from IO direct would kill any savings you hope to make.

A skid is only 36 pails, and the supplier will not deal with end users. We even have problems getting responses from them at times.

The price that BigAl's charges is at their cost not including shipping. They do that to get people in the door, and take the loss for the shipping.

Kelly and I tried to order a few skids in the past and the prices aren't the greatest.

If you want, and depending on the salt, I can check what it'll cost to get it dropped shipped to Calgary.

BTW, if it's IO, I would recommend the 200gal boxes.

I just recently got my skid of salt in.
