BTW, you should never put *anything* down a toilet but toilet paper (TP). TP is specially designed to break apart so it can't normally cause clogs. You can see this easily -just take a sheet of TP, drop it in and then stir it around with the toilet brush and you'll see it disintegrate.

I read out of gas and tank maintenance and I immediately thought the worst and you contaminated your tank with petrol. Yes your day was bad but it could have been worse if you had not washed your hands thoroughly after handing the gas can.
