Edmonton is abit better from where they were last year, but
Nowhere near where you think they are. You dropped some dead weight, but still have issues just like Calgary.
Time will tell but on paper Calgary still has a better team thenEdmonton even with Hall.

i agree ollie belongs with iginla. i always thought ollie played well on the team despite the differences between him and his team mates

well talk all you want but i don't have much high hope any more. It has been 4 years and Sutter has very much done everything that the Flames Fans wants. Hockey is all about chemistry so just so hard to tell if team will do well or not until they actually play.

Even bring in Kovachulk won't promise Flames going to be a good team. On paper Flames are a good team but they suck on the ice.

Whatever Sutter does right now, I don't think it will improve The Flames until they change their "defensive" play style. It does not work any more with the new NHL

Calgary is on the verge of becoming the old Leafs. They were never good enough to do anything, but never bad enough to get any good picks, and continually tried to find stop gaps to get to the next level. With Kipper, Regehr and Iginlia now in their declining years, they needed to rethink the whole stop gap scenario. Hopefully for Flames fans, things work out for you, but I highly doubt Jokinen and Tanguay are the answers you'll be looking for.

I never said the Oil are better than the flame at the moment . What I said is I have some hope for them. The oil went through a brutal season . No team could have done well with the injuries that they had, combine that with the fact that they where a mid pack team at best and you get the worst team in the NHL. BUT the oilers have made huge moves toward making the team better, yes they have a long way to go but they are pointed in the right direction now.
To look at the flame what you see is a team that has under achieved every year since the lock out and have got worse in each of those years. They have really done nothing to really get better and time is running out for the core of this team. If a few of the roster players get thier respective heads out ofthier butts and play like they can and do it consistantly they could climb back up but I have seen nothing that would make me believe that this could happen. I really like Iginla and think he is an amazing player but I do question his brain every time he drops the gloves. He is not paid to fight and on a team that was worse offensivly than the OILERS last year every fight he get into puts the teams season 1 broken bone from disaster....this is selfish and not leadership.
I think it will be fun and very frustrating to be a Hockey fan in alberta this fall....
