Quite a bit of this green stalk like algae is growing on my LR. Personally it's a nuisance algae for me because it's a pain to remove. What is it called and what's the best way to remove it.

Neomeris Annulata (spindle weed) Besides plucking or cooking your rock I'm not sure how to get rid of it.

I had some in my system and was actually trying to encourage it to grow. Something kept nipping at it once it got a certain size though and I haven't seen any in a while. I suspect the nipper was a mithrax crab, but unable to confirm, never saw the dirty deed being done. Happened overnight to the best of my knowledge.

I also have a scrap of Halimeda trying to make a go of it, but my female Maroon Clownfish seems to have an issue with it. As soon as one or two of the branches reach a certain size, she tears it up.

I find it comes and goes. Not sure what conditions it likes but I'll have one or two spring up in the tank and then disappear a month or so later never to be seen again (in the same place anyways).

Peppermint Shrimp eh? I've been considering adding one to my aquarium but I'm afraid of starving the little guy since I have only one aiptasia in my tank.
