Default For Sale....Schuran Jet Skim 250

Hi,

We are nearing the final stages of relocating and we have for sale a four foot Schuran Jetskim 250 skimmer. It will do up to 500 gallons and is to be used externally.

Canreef Member pricing is $800 for this beast. Lowballers Welcome!! This thing needs a home.

"This skimmers offer superior skimming performance due to their triple pass system which means that water and air stay in contact longer, allowing more time for skimming. All skimmers have venturi injector systems and can be used safely with ozone."

Jetskim Seawater Skimmers

Schuran's AquaflotorŽ Jetskim High Performance Skimmers offer superior skimming performance due to their triple pass system which means that water and air stay in contact longer, allowing more time for skimming.

All skimmers have venturi injector systems and as they are made of acrylic they are strong and durable and can be used safely with ozone.

The AquaflotorŽ is a cylinder, which is internally divided into the following compartments: reaction chamber (3), riser (4), separating tube (5), reactor outer tube (8), collection cup (7).

The polluted water from the sump or aquarium (1) is drawn through the pump and mixed with air and ozone (optional) via the venturi (2). From here, the water is pumped into the reaction chamber (3) where a vortexing action occurs which mixes the water with the injected air bubbles. Any solids and proteins are concentrated and become attached to the numerous fine bubbles.

Proteins with lower specific weight than water are the first to flow upwards through the internal riser (4). Solids become attached to the already protein-loaded bubbles and also flow upwards. The heavier protein compounds are then moved by the water flowing into the separating tube (5), where they can be picked up by further bubbles, moving upwards (6).

The pollutants are finally passed into the collecting cup (7) where the bubbles burst and form a highly concentrated foam which can later be removed as flotate. The clean, skimmed water flows into the reactor outer tube (8) and out through the outlet (9).

Excess ozone gas that may not have been used can be passed through an ozone removal device (10).

North Americans aren't too familiar with thsi brand, but they hve been making high quality acrylic equipment for almost 30 years out of Germany.

This is a no nonsense skimmer and very well built.

My Schuran Pico ca reactor once had a fitting break that I could not find anywhere and as a lastditch effort, I emailed Schuran in Germany saying I owned the Pico and a jetskim 120 and wondered where I could get replacement parts for them.

They emailed me back asking for my address.

Within 2 weeks I had a little package from Germany with a full set of spare fittings for my Pico Reactor and an upgraded Venturi for my Jetskim.

No charge, didn't even have to pay for shipping.

Have been BIG fan of Schuran ever since, just thought I'd pipe in as I know this brand leaves a few question marks in north american hobbyists heads.

Red Dragon is the recommended pump, but we are currently using the Reefflo Hammerhead off the return line with it and it works really well.
