Default Breeding Ocellaris

My Ocellaris clowns decided to lay eggs this afternoon. Unfortunately, they decided to pick the corner of the tank where I can't get decent pics nor videos. This is the best I can do. I should be able to take pics from top-down in the evening when the anemones recede and get pics of the orange eggs.

I've had this pair since they were little for almost 2 years now and this is the first time they've bred as far as I know. No chance of survival though for the young as my wrasse will quickly make a meal out of them. I am preparing to set up an anemone/clownfish/coral frag tank soon though.

Clownfish like to breed around lunar eclipses I guess.

Congrats Sam,

That's great news, even if they are doomed to be wrasse food
A great sign that your fish are healthy and happy
Where did she lay the clutch? Looks like it's on the bottom of the glass from those out of focus pictures

Looks like you gotta get that breeding tank setup soon

Default Hatchlings

Some hatchling pics. The good news is that I learned how to use Manual Focus. The bad news is that my camera sucks for Macro shots. Time to find a used G2. Rich, yes, the eggs are in the corner of the tank.

Sam,

The fry will die without proper food. Most likely they will eat newly hatched brine or rotifers.

If you are intent on raising the fry, and I don't see why you couldn't, you'd have to set up a fry raising tank and do it quick so it is cycled prior to them going into the tank. Use a sponge filter powered by an air pump for filtration. Some LR would be a good idea too. Tank can be small, say 10 gal or under for the first while.

You will also have to set up a bs hatchery. If you want more info, PM me. I have some experience raising seahorse fry. Rearing methods would be similar.
