Default Flame Scallops, easy to care or not?

I saw it for the first time in the local store and like to have it very much.
I already made some searchs around but got both "Strongly recommended" and "Strongly NOT recommended."
Please share me some of your experience about it.
Thank.

Stay away from them, it will starve to death in a few months. Certain live stock should be left in the ocean, this is one of them.

Totally agree, they will not survive in an aquarium and should stay in the ocean.

I tried one several years ago when I was very new to this hobby. It died after a month or so despite my feeding the tank green liquid pollution aka Kent Microvert. They're best avoided unless kept with other non photosynthetic filter feeders in a specialized system that receives a constant supply of live phytoplankton. Thats my opinion... Also, they like to hide so one may very well disappear into your rocks where you wont be able to see it.

Why not get a Tridacna clam instead?

Yes, get a clam- but check lighting requirements vs. your lighting first...
