![]() Here is a recent testimonial that we received on the lights.....
Gentlemen, I recently purchased 3 of the 27watt ICE Cool LED spotlights for my 80 gallon mixed reef/fish tank and have to tell you how impressed I am with this product. Originally I used a Corallife Compact Flourescent hood with 2 X 65w 10,000K, and 2 X 65W Actinics. Tank is 48"L X 30"H X 13"D and you can see from the attached pic that there was not enough power to get intense light to the bottom. I was looking at 2 X 250w MH's but the cost was more than I could afford in my budget.T hen I saw your information on the BC Aquaria web site With the new LED's you can see that the intense light is now getting to the bottom of the tank. All the "softies", the leathers and bush corals are doing very well under these lights, and as a side issue, because the LED's do not emit in the orange/red wavelengths, I am having less of a problem with with algae. Great system, you can go ahead and use these pics and this testimonial as a reference. regards, G. Featherstone Before After ![]() |

I'll ask the manufacture and see what they can do for us but in most cases its your eyes adjusting the the look of the LED lighting. I know going from MH to LED was a bit weird for me when i first fired them up but after a few days it became like any other lighting. Hope you like them!

I think all of the girlfriends and wives out there think the bf/husband are a little crazy so your not alone on that one. just wanted to make sure when you mean 50/50 its not: -50% white 50% blue but -50% blue and 50% royal blue So a full blue bulb? Just wanted to make sure what you ment before i contact the manufacture so they dont think im a total nut case which i think they already believe i am. The hardest thing about these bulbs is they are 9 emitters and its impossible to get 50/50 its always going to be 40/60 ( which the 14K is 4blue, 5 white)

im currently testing out a prototype i had made with 4x royal blue, 4x cool white, 1x red and the red is over powering 3W of red over takes 12W of royal blues to our eyes...and no doubt would that happen with the greens as well. Ive heard the greens help pop the oranges/reds but maybe ill build one as a prototype to test out. Dont forget too that every spectrum you add gets broken up into its colors if you have surface movement...in the case with the lamp with the red emitter i was getting 3 colors haha...
