![]() I will most likely get a small cycle, as you will be stirring up diutris and other pollutants, but IMO it won't be like a cycle on a fresh/new tank.
I have seen/heard others do this without issue.

But...I would replace the sand with clean washed sand. There'll be a small "New Tank Cycle/Syndrone" but it should steady itself without causing any losses or too much stress to the inhabitants. This has been my experience. |
