![]() This stuff is so much better than the others I've tried. The only way I could get the others to work decently was to put some cyanoacrylate glue on the frag and then on the putty before sticking it to the rockwork. The OC-Coralstick, however, works great all by itself. It is easy to mix and hardens quickly. I am impressed!

![]() Ok what a busy day, took photos hrs. ago but had new local salty people over..1000 questions later
![]() This is the sweet container the OC coralSTICK comes in,it has a lock that you have to peel to get at the goods.I can use this container later for additives ![]() ![]() Here's the putty one is white the other a bubble gum pink.Nice weight, quite a bit of product here. ![]() Here's the sloped area behind the bubble coral where i have mounted frags before, only to have them fall off minutes later. ![]() Here's an atlantis pink polyp cap mounted,it's no small frags it's 5x4 ![]() See the angle it's mounted at,probably 30 degrees ![]() Next was mounting a purple gorg,it's not happy after being out of the water for a few seconds.Quite an angle, and i cleaned the side glass minutes after puttying it,thrashing it around.Didn't move ![]() ![]() I give this OC Product a 2 thumbs up !! Sooo soft and nice to work with.No real smell,no pink stained fingers for the rest of the day.Doesn't get slimey or cloud the water at all.Doesn't start to fall apart under water while your moving it around.Didn't make my skimmer overflow like others i have used. And mounting frags or colonys at an angle is totally possible as in 2 minutes it's set. Thanks Oceanic Corals for letting me try this fine product in your ever increasing lineup of cutting edge products. |

![]() As the other tester, here's my initial review of OC's new Silicone frag putty:
Out of the package, the putty is really easy to work with. It's super soft and so it's very easy to pinch off a piece, and very easy to knead together. Unlike conventional two-part epoxy, it doesn't leave a nasty residue on your fingers, nor does it have an odor. It mixes well in under 10 seconds, and stays flexible for a while. Unlike some putties that can get pretty hot while curing, so far as I can tell, this putty stays cool. The mixed putty is easily shaped and can be worked with for a while. The instructions stated that you have around 60 seconds to work it, but it definitely stays malleable for a while longer than that. The first thing I used it for was placing a frag onto the rockwork. The putty works well to conform to spaces, but I found that it didn't cling to the rocks very well. I like a very firm hold for my frags (as one fall could take out a whole host of corals), and I found that the putty stayed soft for a while longer than I would have liked. But for the workability and ease of handling, it's definitely much better than your conventional epoxy. I also created a series of frags from fairly fast growing corals in my tank that needed to be trimmed. Two are sunk into traditional two-part epoxy, two are in OC's silicone putty, and two are attached with gel cyanoacrylate only. We'll come back in two or three weeks when they've started to encrust to see how they're doing. Granted they're all different species, but I did one monti and one acro on each piece, so we'll see how this turns out. I haven't tried using it for structural work yet, but so far when attaching frags to rocks and attaching cuttings to frag plugs, it's worked very well. I woudln't say that it'll totally replace the traditional epoxy in my reef 'toolbox' but it definitely has earned a place in there for the ease of use and cleanliness. I'll be sure to check back in a few to see how those frags are doing ![]()

![]() We have another limited order of the O.C. CoralSTICK in the works! We have also had to raise the price a little due to the increase in cost of importing the materials.
Thanks again! Enjoy your Glue! |
