I would say you should look at the SWC or Bubble Magus skimmers...they have good reviews for the price.

I have a Aqua medic Blue1000 and I'm quite happy with it....not too expensive either. My tank is a 70G with 20G sump.

STAY AWAY from the Seaclone..they are junk, honestly. Any of the others suggested would do 100x's the job that the seaclone would. I am a Euroreef fan but they just don't make them anymore....the Vertex is one I would consider for sure..but the BM would be fantastic!

well my buddy just bought a seaclone rated for 100 gallons. mine's 105 with sump but i know i should get a skimmer rated for at least 1.5x. i've heard bad things about seaclones but would it be better with some modding? i might purchase it from him

The Seaclone isnt that bad really. Its great for nanos as long as you can figure out how to get those damned microbubbles to stop.

Why waste money on cheap, useless skimmers? You will upgrade after frustrations. Now Euroreef is well worth the money, even used ones. They are plug and play.

Lately a some sponsors are really pushing Bubble Magus, and there is nothing wrong with "knock off" skimmers, they are certainly a better value than the models they have cloned. Don't forget to have a look at Eshopps, they are also a sponsor, and make a very good skimmer delivering a lot of bang for the buck. If you're into the cone style check out this article http://reefbuilders.com/2009/03/10/c...koner-roundup/
