I found mine to be unhappy with high magnesium as well.

How long have you had the torch? What do you have for fish? As Coleus suggested, one of them may have picked at it to death
 I would hope that any LFS that you bring water to would be truthful about your water parameters.. If anything was out of wack they should have said something so I would almost give them the benefit of the doubt, but that might just be me being naive? You should still get yourself a set of test kits though.

Thanks Kien, we've only had the torch for a week. Fish are Orange spot goby, firefish, dottyback, and cleaner wrasse, and have 2 cleaner shrimp.
it's sad, it was a nice torch too. It seemed completely happy until yesterday. All the other corals are doing really good, even the ones that the cleaner shrimp are walking all over! :P Anywho, ya, test kit is going to have to be a must I guess.
