![]() Pelle/Darcy and all...
I have been running Medicine Hat tapwater since my start up last October. For water changes I am typically mixing it with a powerhead for 24 hrs. This definitely releases the chlorine and no dechlorinator is needed. Darcy the reason I wanted to know about Prime was that today I had to do a quick water change due to my green bubble tip anemone going through a Koralia powerhead in my tank this morning...! The water was stinking within a short time frame so I wanted to partially change it asap and could not wait the 24 hours. I was posting from work looking for an answer so I had to cut my posting short as I did not have a lot of time and my typing skills suck! Tinman you are right, I know from past expereince that the Nutrafin stuff has chemicals in it (aloe vera??) in it that causes skimmers to over foam and over flow. But I could not recall the name "Prime." Thanks to all for your help. I did a water change with Prime tonight (no foaming!) and all is getting better... water still stinks but working on running carbon. Tonight corals are out, fish, and inverts acting normal so far. Keeping my fingers crossed! The only loss to date is the GBTA which did not survive its suicide attempt. Last edited by reefbyremote; 04-16-2010 at 07:53 PM. |
