just go out to your LFS and get another tank. a 27gl should'nt be to hard to find at a LFS that will drill it well you wait or call in advance . Much easier the fixing a cracked tank of that size.
If your stand is not right try to correct it and ensure your flat and level befor to fill the new tank.

Aw that sucks. Well, I just wanted to mention that Raf & I have "emergency services" and we could always come out in a jiff (anytime!). I would suggest just getting a new tank, especially a 40 gallon, due to cost. Its just not worth the hassel and headache to replace or repair the bottom payne. If you needed an extra hand setting up/tearing down I am sure there are lots of canreefers that would help, as could we.

And there is nothing wrong with taking a break from reefing. Sometimes it allows time for motivation and inspiration to build up.

Sorry to hear about your mishap. If you get a new tank and you are available on Saturday I would happily help you drill a new hole. I have bits for 3/4 - 1.5 inch bulkheads.

Just pm me if you need to.

Default Thanks for all the help

There has been a lot of offer of help. Thank You to everyone. I have a bit of a busy day ahead but hopefully this afternoon I will be able to take stock of things and come to a clear decision on what to do. I know that I will really miss my tank and there are a couple of corals I have that will really make me unhappy to see go. But it is also for them that I am thinking to sell.

Default Can't give it up!

I have thought about it constantly and to give it up would make me very unhappy. I love the beauty of a reef tank and it gives me little moments of tranquillity during my work day. So I will move forward and get things resurrected, into a new home and a new start.
