Can you post a picture so we can see how it's setup. Do you have a cap with a hole in it for air on top of the tee, or is it open. A cap on top with a air line tube would help with the noise.

A picture would be great.

With the bulkhead on the back of the tank I would normally have the tee on the outside of the tank with a cap on top. Inside the tank would be an elbow and the overflow.
