Default large tank and euro bracing

Who has a large tank with eurobracing? I may have the opportunity to remove my cross brace and add eurobracing and I'm wondering what size your bracing is? Also, any thoughts on curing time for the silicone?

I have a 150 g - 48" L 24" W - the bracing is about 3 1/2 " wide and 3/4 " thick - I don't know if this helps

My silicone bottle says allow 2-5 days cure time for aquarium repair. But below it says tack free in 45min and fully cured in 24hrs.

My euro brace is 3" and 3/8" thick on my 120g.

I'm curious what the bracing on the width would do. Does everyone have this? I'm only adding it to the front and back. I also notice a variety of widths. 1/2, 3/8 and 3/4inch.

Honestly, I don't know. InterAmerican tends to overbuild their aquariums for strength so I guess it's for extra protection. I think he mentioned that they brace width if the tank is over 18" wide.

I think you would be fine at 1/2". I think the majority of the bracing is just the leftover from the tank construction. they will brace whatever they use to make the tank.

Bryan, I think your right. The sides aren't braced now, so I don't think I need tochange that. I'll price out glass and see if the thicker is much more.

Most glass places do not sell 1/2". You amy have to do a special order.
