completely agree with bandit here, i wish i had an extra 3-5 inches oh how sweet that would be, its so annoying to have built my stand wrong that it makes me want to get a new tank, btw i used the same plans from the link, strong as an ox,but i think there are draw backs the 2 by 4s take up way too much realestate if u are making the stand flush with your tank. next time i'm going metal stand and proper skinning. just my 2 cents

Thanks for the link kien. I did some reading on the thread and I'm going to use this plan. My tank was custom built and I don't think the bottom pane is tempered so should I put a piece of plywood on the top of the stand?

I would put a piece of plywood and a piece of styrofoam on top. The pink or blue styro
