Default Mixing Fish

Hi everyone,I got a question.I would like your opinion.
I got a 90 and a 75 gallon FOWLR.Now my Question is what do u think about mixing the following fish.I got a chance to buy a 140 tank.48 1/2 X 24 1/2 X 28 1/2.

90 gallon consist of:

200#'s Live Rock....Hippo Tang - Pair Maroon Clowns - False Purcula Clown - Flame Angel - 3 Stripe Damsel - Yellow Wrasse

75 Gallon consist of: 140#'s Live rock.... Yellow Tang - Coral Beauty - Bengia Cardinal - Pair of False Percula clowns.

My only concern is the Angels and the Percula Clowns, fighting.

Any thoughts?

I think you're likely right with your concerns on these fish. Of course they could get along fine, but getting them out of a 140g tank might be tough!!

Doesn't seem like you're getting a much bigger footprint with the 140? More living space in terms of territory might help, but combining what you have would be a pretty big gamble as it sits. Don't think you're looking at a big enough upgrade with this deal.

Now, a 6-ft tank would be another story...

Thanks guys,Thats what i was thinking also, trying to get a 6 foot tank.Plus even if all the fish did get along,I think 12 fish would be way to much in a 140?

Thanks again,

Marcel

That is a lot of fish. Sounds like a 180 would suit your needs though.

Not sure if I read this right, do Flame Angels and Clowns not get along? I only ask as I would like to ad a Flame Angel to my tank in the future. I have a False Percula and a Maroon. This would be in my 90gal.

Mine don't seem to notice each other in my tank. No fights witnessed.

Oh, there's a clownfish compatibility chart in this month's RK magazine:

http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-10/hcs3/index.htm

Its pretty general but might be slightly useful.

I have never seen pygmy angels fight with clowns much, esp. larger ones. I do see a problem between having maroons and percs in the same tank.
