OK, here i go again back by strong demand. Actually I was stalking the board until Aqua digital offered the review....

any ways, I have been battling many types of Algae's , from Bubble, Red turf, and Green turf, along with some low colors from the PO 4 Now i do 10 -15 gal per week on my system. I used to do only 5 gals ,but Mike AKA Aqua digital suggested that i boost it up when I was doing the Ultra lith to aid in getting that recommended % of weater changes done each week.
THIS IS WHAT I'M DEALING WITH IN MY TANK.

that one is the bubble algae all over the rocks

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
So I started this on 18th of Jan after getting back from out west.
PO-4 was tested heating the water to 80F the test was at .01ppm.
from reading the instructions that it states that 100ml per 75 gal's

This is what I received from Aqua Digital for the trial.

VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU READING THIS

This is the test Kit that i use.

This what My tank was sitting at before I left to head to BC.

This is what my PO4 Level was at before I tested. Aqua Digital stated they like to see the PO4 level at a higher state when using this stuff since you get the greatest improvement out of the ultra phos. But I told him I would Like to still give it a go. At this level it will start slower down the Coral growth.

Now I have used the proper amount and only used 50% of the recommended dose for the 1 week to see any difference. not much of a difference. Just wanted to get the tank use to the Ultra Phos. I'm dosing Kalk 24/7 through my Barr Aquatic's KR3020 stirrer. ALong with Im running Carbon in the same reactor too. And Im still using the Ultra Bio that i was on. Mike Should I stop that or keep going with that stuff. DO you want me to continue with that trial with that Ultra Bio too.

Default Week 2

HUGE change in the PO4 it went from .01 PPM
I changed out the Media and added the recommended dosage to the reactor now and will test at the end of this week. This stuff is alot faster then PHOSBAN., WIth ULTRA PHOS this stuff didnt affect my ALK none what so ever. that is a huge score so no up and down level on the ALK scale AWESOME. Right now the PO 4 is sitting at
0
the big FAT ZERO
NADDA
ZIP.
SO stay tuned for the week 3 that is soon approaching

Sweet! Ya know, if you get on the full ultralith that brown wafer algae will be gone in a matter of months. I've noticed it starting to come back some in my tank and am thinking about starting it up again. Be interesting to see if you can starve it out with the ultraphos though

You can use the full dose of power phos until you reach zero

BUT and this is a big fat but.

You must test by doing a heat test otherwise your results mean, well not a lot really.

Heat a sample of water to 80 degress C (celcius)
allow to cool for 3-5 minutes
test in the normal manner

By doing this you are releasing bound PO4 molecules back into the water for the test solution to absorb.

Once you have zero under heat test conditions you can reduce the amount of phos being used and then look at other regimes such as LNS ultra Lith system.

For the review do not add any bio please as this will give false results.

so the results are the ultra phos crashed out the P04 rapidly leaving your sysem PO4 neutral?

if so then continue using it at maintenance levels

Mega fast results but now we must see what this translates to algae issues, and this is why you must continue the test and the use.
