![]() I have an acro colony that needs help its all good except a white patch has developed not to sure what to do there was a small dead spot when i got it that had some algae growth so i nipped it off it was fine till lately it started doin this but is still growing all around it ....
Should i frag that shoot and hope for the best??? ![]() ![]() Thanks Shawn

![]() I don't normally find that little patches like that are a huge problem. I have a couple of colonies that have patches like that (due to a couple of nasty crabs). I just keep an eye on it and blow it clean with a turkey baster every day or so, so that algae doesn't develop too badly over it. Over time it should encrust over that area if it is healthy. If it is not healthy you'll know right away and it'll start to RTN or STN, and that's when you should start to consider snipping and fragging.
Keep an eye out also for crabs that might be lurking in the colonies and having a snack. Not the "good" acro crabs but usually the "nasty" gorilla crabs or the ones with the red beady eyes. |

![]() Same here sometimes you get some dead spots for a variety of different reasons, and they will recover and grow back if your tank is running right.
