Default algae question

Hi all,

1. Does hair algae kill acropora ?
2. Could you mix soft leather coral with acro ? I heard that the leather do excrete a substance into the water column which would kill acros. Is that true ?

thanks.

hair algae could smother an acro.
Yes, soft corals excrete compounds that restrict hard corals from growing. Carbon removes these compounds.
