Default Any Electrical Type Guys Able to Help Answer a Question?

So Im in the process of hooking up my Auto Top Off and Ive got this Bilge Pump that does 200 GPH that I was going to use for the system. Problem is it doesnt have a connection that I can plug into a typical wall outlet (or in this case the outlet from the ATO unit)

So I need a transformer. It is a DC 12V 1.7A unit. I have tried the Source and they didnt have anything, neither did home depot. Anyone in Calgary know if a place I can get a transformer for this unit? Thank you!

My other option is a place to get a cheap pump. The cheaper of the two options is what Id prefer.

Get an old computer power supply. Jumper green to any black to turn power supply on, and Yellow to black is 12Vdc. yellow being Positive. Red to black is 5Vdc, Red positive.

If it is a DC motor, a transformer won't do diddly. Those are for AC. Please don't try mixing DC and AC; the results will be disasterous. Kablammo!

Depending on amperage you could use a simple 12 VDC wall wart (a type of power supplypower supply... like the black boxes that you find on laptop power cords, etc). I think this is what you mean by a transformer maybe? A 12 VDC wall wart that plugs into a 120 VAC outlet should be no more than a few bucks at radioshack, walmart, etc. Make sure you get a supply that can handle 1.7 A.

Default transformer

if you use a typical puck light transformer from under cabinet fixtures, that will work. most of them give 12vdc and up to 60w capability
thats what i would do.....

Computer power supply will work.....but don't put Green to black, that only works for some power supplies I know the atx power power supplies you need to tie green to ground.........If you have an old power supply PM me with the make and model and I'll let you know how to hook it up.......Or if all else fails I can just build you a power supply for your pump!
