I know so many great photos... made it tough but I still voted for my hoggy hehe. Question, and I hate to nit-pick and maybe its no big deal, but I notice the quality of the pics is vastly decreased between the original submissions and the ones posted on the poll. Superbly clear macro shots become fuzzy due to reducing the image quality. Is this neccesary or could maybe it be fixed for the next round? Some of those up close coral shots are just so good in the submission thread but not in the voting thread. Just a thought!

I noticed that too, and also was wondering why the quality changed.

I think its because they are smaller and there for they have less impact.
Diana your picture was a great shot but if you had cropped it in on the fish a bit more it would off made more impact in a reduced size.
I am sure Jason had too make them smaller so they would fit. This means they were run through the photo butcher.... we did have a lot of entry's this month.
I always base my vote off the originals though and I would think think that the majority of us do as well.
Ps I always shoot macro on a macro lens and almost never crop makes for a cleaner photo.
That being said where is nexts month subject???

The Photo contest rule used to say "Entries should be a 640x480 format" This was to save on band width and allow people to view the page without hours of download time. It also makes all photo fare as they are all displayed in the same DPI and fiel size.

The rules no longer say that but I think it's far to those without high speed conections and to people who do not have that powerful a camera.
I am only resizing to 1024X768 the most popular screen res
