Default Help!

I woke up this morning to something in my system tripping the GFCI - turns out my Mag-700 pump cratered

I've got a line on a used either Mag 1200 or 1800 from someone in the Northwest Montana Reef Club.

But - my system is set up for a Mag 700 as the return from the sump/refugium which runs through a 3/4" line with a ball valve.
The Overflow is a LifeReef 600gph.
Will I be able to throttle back the Mag 1200/1800 (with the ball valve) enough to keep the flow to about 600gph without messing things up?
The valve is on the outlet side of the pump.

Vic

You won't have any problems doing that. It will be fine.

Great news!
I'll be picking up the pump tomorrow am in Kalispell & should have the system back up in the afternoon.
Hopefully I won't need to make too many plumbing changes - gotta love adaptors.

Default Update

Well I put the Mag 1200/1800 pump in and all is well.
It took about 45 minutes to get the pump attached and running. 10 minutes of this was rolling and securing the 18' of cord they come with
At the suggestion of a local irrigation store, I installed a 6" double-swivel 90-degree elbow contraption to take up any slack from the different pump case sizes.
This along with the ball-valve & there were no problems getting the flow set right - only took about 5 minutes and a couple of trial settings.
Unfortunately, the label on the replacement pump is scraped up, so I can't tell which model it is, but I'm sure when the impeller needs replacing, it'll be the more expensive style
