Couple Questions

The BTA seems to have found a spot, it moved a couple inches to the left of where we put it and seems to be staying.

Also the foxface and Tomini seem to be getting along a lot better now too. Havent seen any fighting really at all today.

My BTA has moved very little in the several years I've had it. Maybe I got lucky, dunno. But I have read, and the current location of my BTA seems to corroborate, that they do like to situate themselves in a slight hollow/depression of the LR. If you have something like that, facing upwards towards the light that would help. Sounds like it's found a spot now though, so I wouldn't mess with it unless there's a danger of it encroaching a prize coral that might get stung. Never a sure thing with an anemone though, they sometimes just decide it's time to roam, regardless of what we do.

haha thanks Mike, mine has definitely found a hollow spot in the LR and is getting a good amount of light in the spot he has chosen.

I was so scared today when he deflated, but I guess thats how they get rid of their natural waste and I had no idea lol. He/she has already filled back up though and looks good.

How often should I spot feed and what food do you suggest? Ive read silversides and mysis but right now have brine shrimp that Ive been feeding the fish.

I feed small slices of Silversides every two to three days. Actually most any raw seafood will generally be ok. I think brine shrimp may be too small and lack the nutrition of other meaty seafood. Occasionally I soak the Silverside in Selcon. Depending on the size of your specimen, you may need to adjust the feeding accordingly. Start with a small chunk, observe to make sure it takes it down and doesn't expel it right away. If you have a cleaner shrimp or other crabs around, keep an eye on them for trying to steal the anemone's food. Once it's sticky enough, and it might be already, the shrimp will no longer be able to raid the booty. I do recall the first chunk I ever fed being stolen by the cleaner shrimp. Even now, when I feed the nem, I cut an extra sliver or two of Silverside, one for the shrimp and one each for my brittle stars.

After several feedings, you'll see what works best. You should see it deflate and expel waste a day or two after feeding. Then you'll know it's ready for another round. Some folks don't feed theirs at all, relying on the lighting and whatever the anemone can snag on its own.
