I've done similar thing in the past - positioning the bulkhead with threads protruding outside of the tank and using slip on plug, not threaded one. If I just do what you suggest, what end I put the gasket on then? Per manufacturer instructions it should be be outside the tank, since it shouldn't be placed on the side where bulkhead nut is. Am I correct?
