Default A question about Koralia powerheads

just looking for some help from people who have experience with the Koralias powerhead.
Ocean Aquatics is have a sale on them and I would like to buy some.
my question is are they 4's too strong? 1200 GPH seems like alot of water movement. does it affect the fish at all?
one of the tanks I want to set up is a 4 foot 130 gallon SPS tank, how many 4's would u put in it? I was thinking 4 in total...is that many, I also want fish in there as well....would this be too much current?
as well, as anyone had any other problems with them?

thanks in advance for any input.
Neal

I think 4 will work great on a 4 foot tank, there should be no problems at all with to much flow for the fish.

I think for the money the Koralias are not better than a MJ1200 with a Sureflow kit. Not to mention you are saving a pile of money.

So far all I've used are two small koralia 1's for some additional flow in my frag tank but I have been quite happy with them. I do need to clean them once a week as their design seems to collect algae very well but I dont think many people have that problem.

Just another question about Koralia 4's, with 1/2" glass will the magnets hold OK, I thought I read something about the magnets being a bit weak but I can't find anything about it when I search now.

I've used a K4 on 1/2" glass without any issues. Had one on 5/8" glass for a little while as well and never was a problem.

I have two Sunsun's in my 115 cube. They are AWESOME. Two solid thumbs up on these guys.

Neal, of course everything depends on different things like tank size and shape, but for the most part, it's difficult to overdo flow.

Ryan, there is one possible detriment to the Maxijet Sureflows .. at least I found this. The impeller shafts last only about 6 months or so, and then they corrode through. For $20 it's a not a huge deal to go out and buy another but I stopped buying them - I want my powerheads to last longer than that and I'm not sure what baddies are getting into the tank when things rust. It's obviously not a high grade stainless steel or titanium, whatever that shaft is made of. I've gone through at least 5 or 6 of them and they all met the same fate sooner or later (the corroded shaft).
