What lens did you use?

The lens is a Nikkor 18-200mm (with a Nikon D90 body).
I'm just now starting to get better with it; lots to learn from a regular point and click that i'm used to.

The photos many of put up are gorgious! Does one have to have digital SLR with a special lense to get these shots? Could one use a Nikkon coolpix on manual settings? If so what settings? OR could I use a Canon Rebel SLR and if so what lense and settings? Do you use a tripod? Do you edit in photoshop?
Also how do you get you tank glass and water so clear that it seems it is not there at all?
These photos make great art
So many questions..hope there are some answers for those wanting to start taking photos.
