Hello,
I have an Aquacontroller III and it is upstairs with my display tank and my sump and fishroom is downstairs. I have 8 outlets controlled upstairs and 8 outlets controlled downstairs. It just uses a regular phone cable (I bough my 20 foot phone cable from Home Depot). I ran the phone cable beside my plumbing that leads to the basement and put the other 8 outlets (DC8) in the basement. So from upstairs I can turn my fuge light on, or my return pump on or off, or control my calcium reactor etc.... I hope this helps. All it was for me was a long phone cable that did the trick.
