![]() I'd still look into the jumper thing. at 15V the pump will run a lot less strongly than at 24V I just don't know if Tunze condones that.

![]() Tunze literature clearly states that the Wavebox is only meant for supplemental flow and that primary flow must be provided by other means.
I'd ask the Tunze forum on RC about lowering the voltage but I suspect that that is the way to go since the ability to vary voltage is built into their newer streams/nanostreams and even the osmolator. |

![]() I know for a fact that the 6101 transformer runs at 15V and 24V and possibly 12V. It displays a range on the back I just can't recall. The 6101 transformers are used on the waveboxes which actually use 6201 series pumps I believe. Like you said tho these pumps are intended to run a bit differently so I'd ask but the 6101 stream can certainly run at 15V.

![]() I posted up on Reef Central. My controller doesn't have the variable voltage switch on the back.
Thanks Christie, my SPS are about 6-8" away from the Wavebox. The Mille is loving it (of course haha), but the Birdnests and Stylo aren't impressed...polyps are mostly retracted. Maybe they will get used to it? |

![]() The stylo will likely get used to it (I had two and both mine eventually liked it, they were kind of crabby at first tho). The birdsnest might but they like more indirect flow, IMO.

![]() Here is Tunze's reply (from Reef Central): "The Nano Wavebox is probably your best solution but despite the look of the wave, 1.5" would provide great flow. You could try 15V but I think the Nano Wavebox will work better. The corals will adapt but it is important that they be secured in place so they cannot fall down."
I also asked if I could get a medium-sized wave since all I seem to be able to produce is 1.5" (or more) or nothing. So I think I will just see how the corals adapt in the next week or so, and if that doesn't work I will ask my friend if he wants to trade for his Wavebox Nano. I can move the Birdnests to the other side of the rock arch. they will probably be happier there. I will try trading spots with the Acros. I think the Acros will handle it since they don't have very big polyps. The Stylo looks better today, but still isn't impressed. Pfff...finicky corals! My Duncan is choked, and my Euphyllias aren't too happy. Maybe they will all get used to it. Thanks for the offer Brett, but I will try to stick it out. ![]() |
