I work on the outside boats but was laid off in Feb. I do get a few days a month but it equates to barley part time. It's our busy time right now and gets slower over the winter, so I will have to find a job to get me through the winter and see what happens next spring.

As far as the outside goes it's very bad, the big boys like SeaSpan and Smit are hurting bad. Not just from the latest economic situation but the downturn of the forestry industry in general over the years and all the mills shutting down. I hear SeaSpan has 20+ year guys laid off and I was told the next Deckhand to be laid off at Smit has 35 years and he's a outside guy working in the river now, or for now.

I may be looking at a career change.
