Default ALK difference between Tank and Change water

Just wondering what a safe difference in Alkalinity between the tank and the change water would be? I'm going to change 10G in my 75G and made a little mistake when adding buffer to the replacement water.

Thanks
Jason

Jason, I just add the water the way it mixes straight from the bucket. I don't even concern my self with alk differences. Unless you're WAY over, I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for the quick reply. unfortunately I'm way over. my Alk is low in the tank around 7.0dKH and the water (I added buffer but miss measured) is 14dKH. Well I dumped a bunch of water out and am topping up now. I just have to wait.

7 and 14 aren't a spread I would worry about. The 14 is diluted a fair amount and the end difference would be slight.
