I water garden plants and trees with it mostly. How do you guys do your laundry with it? manually put it into the washer or is the line plumbed in somehow?

So all the folks running it into washing machines have conventional washers, that is, top loading?? I have a fairly new front loader and it uses very little water so I don't bother using the waste water that way. The washer would be full in about 15 minutes. Garden is where it all ends up now, but haven't figured out what to do in the winter. I have a couple of good sized drums to store it, but that won't be sufficient for the cold season.

The good old toilet tank is one of the bigger water users in most homes, but how to replenish that without either major plumbing work and/or manually filling it up?

Good idea. Maybe use the float in there to pump water over from a reservoir?
