building materials are not part of budget, even if you build it yourself. For the skimmer you would pay the price before shipping (if any).

at least that's how I understood the rules

How do we budget the frags from our own tanks? Sorry, I thought I read that somewhere but I can't find it now.

Okay. So if I had a large zoa frag that I bought for say $15 at the Reef Network frag auction and split it in half do I budget it as $15 or as $7.50? If I had a large finger leather I bought for $40 and split it into 4 frags is it $10 or do I have to use the entire $40? I guess I am trying to get a handle on how to account for frags of frags etc

Sorry, not trying to be difficult. I am trying to put together a preliminary budget as my hardware costs will probably be around $200 and want to make sure my accounting is correct.
