Shoulder injuries suck (as do most any other type of injury). I've just managed to get mine working well enough to finally return to work after 6 1/2 months. I never had surgery on the shoulder, but did for my fractured ankle. The shoulder had many things damaged but none bad enough to warrant cutting into it (at least not for now). All this as a result of hitting a deer with my motorcycle. My arm was the first thing to contact the road and did not stand up so well to the forces of a 500lb motorcycle and me jamming it into the gravel at 60 Km/h. Lots of Physio to get it back to about 85-90%. Still some pain and discomfort, but I expect that is just my life now. Looking forward to the future of probably needing surgery on it someday.

I've heard good things about Dr. Boorman, he did my initial assesment for both my injuries in the ER at the PLC. For my shoulder, I ended up under the care of Dr. Lo who is also excellent. I believe they are the top two shoulder specialists in the city if not the province.

Good luck with the recovery, it can be trying not being able to do the things we take for granted. But at least you can still walk, try using crutches with a wounded wing

hahaha no thanks Ed.

Well, for those who I met yesterday at Johns, yes, the arm is out of a sling. Dr Boorman contacted me and we talked and it was decided that there's nothing really left for me to have injured/torn...that's already been done. So after the shoulder was put back in place the only point of the sling really was to help keep weight off of it. I hate being the one armed bandit...so it's out of a sling. But noooooo cycle thinger for quite a while. Good thing is, it moved me up on the operation list
