![]() Is there a special type of glass to use for tank tops? I will be running a 400w mh about 9 inches above the glass and 2 175 w mh about 5 inches above the glass. The 175w mh are not my concerned about the glass breaking with the heat. But the 400w light raises the temp at glass level to 55 c. I want to use 1/4 inch glass. Is regular glass fine or should I go to another type glass?

![]() I would think that the tank water is going to get super hot. Why do you want to go with Glass?

![]() I have 2 14 inch braces on the tank and have found dried fish on them before. Don't want to lose and more fish.

![]() I have made a couple mesh tops that rest on my bracing and so far haven't had any jumpers. Don't have to worry about heat build up or keeping them clean.

![]() What type of mesh should I use because of the heat. I know the temp of the tank top under the 400w is because when I was baking the paint with an old light (a regular 400w 6500k) I took a temp reading. I was just wondering how hot it would be in the hood. I am planing to put a fan or two in when I get time to find one.
