A while back my BTA ate my sea hare but I swear I found a piece of sea hare in my sump this past week. Can they regenerate?

I saw some slime, I scraped it up and it started moving on my finger... had spots just like my old sea hare.

I have no clue. When i pulled it out it stumk something fierce.
