What determines the color of the skim juunk collected in skimmer cup? What color is it supposed to be? Mine is a pale greenish tea look to it Jim |

![]() green color tea means that you are skimming wet and IME is a better way of taking out the nutrients ,but make sure over time that you check you salinity it can take out salt that way.
IF you get dark brown crap then you are skimming dry. which you will see the neck of the skimmer get dirty faster too.

![]() As I switch between formula 1 and formula 2 pellets my skimmate changes from green tea to brown tea based on the colour of pellets I'm feeding primarily.
From what I understand, green tea is the suggested optimum.
