"Gauging Interest"

At first I as feeling the same way as myka, but being that I am trying to decide if it is time to buy one of those high end T5 units, I could see me guaging interest on my current tek unit to better figure out what my cost for the new unit would be if I was to sell my current unit. I guess it helps justify the spending for the new equipment when the sale of the current one would be like a discount going towards the new one.

So when you guys say "guaging interest" you're wondering if someone will pay what you're asking? Is that the deal? I just don't see the point in putting "guaging interest" ...why not just post a price, and see if it sells? I think it's just pointless when almost all of the "guaging interest" threads end in a sale.

And it seems like the new in thing around here too.

Well I think having the gauging interests is a good way to feel that if someone is looking to buy a complete system. i have seen lost of people put their system on for sale and people will lowball them asking to part out. and then the seller ends up parting out and in the end having parts of equipment that he can't sell. having the gauging thing is a personnel issue. If a person wants to put it in there its thier option.....
