1.5" from RC calculator is good for 1300gph, but staying 1.5" or if you did go 2" for the primary, could consider 1" or 1.5" for emergency.

1.5" should be good for 1200 gph. I would keep both drains the same size.

1200 gph? Setting up a big tank? Be careful with high turnovers...tend to get lots of micro bubbles into the display if you run too much flow through the sump.

Thanks everyone.... I think I should be safe with two 1 1/2" drains. Just wanted to double check before I drill, going to make my overflow box this weekend.
