![]() just becuase a test kit is reading zero nitrates and phosphates doesnt mean they arnt there it just means the algae is consuming them at the same rate of production
algae is a good indicator both are present im dealing with hair algae that is growing at 1/2" a day and i havent had any fish in the tank for weeks

This should help with most questions you have. My first thought was are you using tap water instead of RO/DI ? If so there is your culprit. ![]() |

![]() that seems like the normal algae progression I had. I added a bunch of snails and crabs and a rabbitfish to tidy up the rest of the tank.
