![]() I just recently bought and installed a new 100W Hydor THEO heater. I set the temp to 79 Deg F. I just found my tank temp at 90. I bought it because I thought it would be reliable.... Thats quality control.....

![]() Did you set the heater and then just put it in the tank and plug it in right away? If so that is most likely the problem, you need to set it in the tank for about 15 to 20 minutes to let the thermostate regulate, then plug it in and it should work ok. If you did that then obviously it's faulty.

![]() Most likely a faulty product. Email them, Hydor is usually pretty good for warrantee issues.

![]() One of the main reasons I got into a controller. I've had heater issues in the past but luckily not enough to cook the tank.

![]() I just pick one up last month...It was defective as well. I end up electrocuting my tuxedo urchin. I could also feel it with my hands in the tank. Took it back to store for a new one.
